1.First, go to http://deviantart.com or any other website that might have brushes. I use Deviantart though, it's the best choice.
2.Next, search "Gimp Brushes" and look for the brushes you like. Once you have the set of brushes you want, click on them (of course) and there should be a "Download" button to the right of the page.
REMINDER : You need WinRAR. (Which is an extracting program.)
Download it HERE : http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Make sure you click the top one which is WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 3.93.
You need GIMP (DUH) so... here : http://www.gimp.org/
There's a HUGE "Download" button that is right in your face. If you can't notice it, you're pretty much blind.
3.Now, you pressed download so you can download the brushes. Click "Save". Go to "My Computer" which can be found on your desktop or the bottom left corner "Start" button. Open your (C:) hard disk drive and then go to the "Program Files" folder. In this case, I have GIMP 2.0. I'll go ahead and click that next. From here, you'll click the following : Share>Gimp>2.0>Brushes.
4.Then, take a look at your desktop. There should be an icon that looks like a stack of books. Right click the icon and a list of options will pop up. From there, click "Extract Here". A bunch of files should pop up.
5.Move your files into your "Brushes" folder. Close your folder when you're done moving the files. Now open GIMP and you should have your brushes.
